Self Study

JANUARY – JUNE 2010

Porterbrook is Sojourn’s new teaching material that we are very excited about.  It is a three-month study that will guide you through how to grow in your Christian character.  It is unique in that it is a self-study, so you can go through the material whenever you have the time.  We will begin the self-study this month and it is required of all Seed Leaders.  Once you sign up for the material online, we will have a binder with materials ready for you at the Connect kiosk during the morning and evening services.  We are asking our Seed Leaders to attend the Feed & Seed to review the assigned portions and to help us assess the training materials.  The teaching material for this three-month period is $25.  If you are unable to pay for the class, emailjmoss@sojournchurch.com and we can walk through other options.

Germantown Campus

JANUARY – FEBRUARY 2010

Mercy 101 Class –

Who: Anyone who desires to learn more about God’s mercy to us through his son Jesus Christ.

What: This class is the backbone of the Mercy Ministry here at Sojourn.  You will go through the theology of why we are to be a merciful people, what poverty is according to the Scriptures, and how God uses his children to address poverty.  This four week class is required for all Seed Leaders.

When: Sundays beginning January 17 – February 7.  11:00am-12:30pm

Where: The 930 in Room 301 (Third floor)

Mercy Monday

Who: Anyone who desires to be used by God to share his glory and grace to the world.

What: Come join a team of deacons and get exposed to face to face mercy ministry.  You will never go at it alone and will be guided every step of the way.  You will have a choice to visit a family in the neighborhood, run an errand for the elderly, or prayer walk through the neighborhood.  Mercy Monday is not only designed to equip you to minister in the city, but also to the neighbors where you live.  Just show up!

When: Every Monday night

5:30pm till 6:30pm.  Join us as we read Scripture, train, pray, and get equipped to visit and minister.

6:30pm till 8:30pm.  Join us as we put feet to the message of the gospel and minister to our neighborhoods.

Feed & Seed

Who: All Seed Leaders and anyone who desires to serve families in the city of Louisville.

What: Join us for a time of eating, celebration and training.  Bring a side dish and experience what Seed is all about.  After enjoying a 30 minute lunch you can either join us as we leave the facility to serve the city or stay and learn more about how God can use you to reach people in Louisville with the gospel.

When: Every Second Sunday of the month.  The next Feed & Seed is scheduled for Sunday, February 14th from 12:45pm – 2:30pm.

Where: The 930.

East Campus

Who: All Seed Leaders and anyone who desires to serve families in the city of Louisville.

What: Join us for a time of eating, celebration and training.  Bring a side dish and experience what Seed is all about.  After enjoying a 30 minute lunch you can either join us as we leave the facility to serve the city or stay and learn more about how God can use you to reach people in Louisville with the gospel.

When: Every fourth Sunday of the month.  The next Feed & Seed is scheduled for Sunday, February 28th from 12:00pm – 1:30pm.
